Guy(22M) I(21F) used to date likes stories of myself pics and voted for something personal(?)

So I(21F) met this guy(22M) on a dating app back in July this year and we were dating from July-August, met 4 times. He was a very, very sweet and respectful guy, but he was a horrible texter like he would sometimes even take 2 days to reply(meanwhile watching my ig stories).

So I eventually got fed up with him and confronted him with a long message. He apologized and admitted that he wasn’t in the headspace to be dating anymore. That’s how we ended it but we said to each other that we’re glad we got to spend time together so things ended on respectful terms on both our ends.

And since then, we’ve been still following each other on Instagram. He has like 900 other followings so I didn’t really take it personally.

But recently, I noticed that he’s been liking my stories specifically when it’s of myself (selfies/mirror selfies). Not every single selfie or mirror selfie but quite a significant amount for me to notice that he’s been doing this.

And today I posted a vote for “who’s going to XX on XX” and he voted for no. Last time when I posted a vote about “guess how much this was”, he didn’t vote.

I’m starting to think that he’s somewhat interested in me. I feel like he’s maybe afraid of reaching out to me because he feels guilty for how I got annoyed with his behaviour (replying late) last time and maybe that’s what’s holding him back…?? And he’s maybe testing the waters to see if I would react…?

But I feel like if they’re a true man and they’re interested again, they should just reach out first rather than giving me these subtle signs. Like I’m soooo confused. My question for you all is, do you think he is genuinely interested in me somewhat in hopes that I’d reach out to him…? Is this a few steps away from him reaching out to me…? I’m especially so confused about the vote today.
