Mother in law called me an incubator

Rant/Vent

Thid past weekend my mother in law came over for the first time since I delivered to meet our 2 month old baby. I have had slight problems in the past with mother in law but had always tried to write off the comments she would make as me being overly sensitive. She would say things while laughing like I had led my husband on for years. Which isn't true my last relationship was highly abusive and it took me three years after meeting him to heal before being ready for a relationship which my husband was very understanding and happily waited for me. His mother were aware of this as well after questioning why we weren't together yet. She would also point out loudly while hugging me that I'm insecure. There is a lot more but this post is already pretty long. Anyway, my pregnancy was a very difficult one. In the first two trimesters I had HG and was admitted to the hospital three times a week each while they tried to find the right combination of medications for me. I lost over 40 pounds from it and in the last two months I was diagnosed with preeclampsia. I ended up needing to induced at 34 weeks pregnant which then turned into a c-section because my baby was too small and couldn't push her way out of me and was under a lot of distress. My baby was sent to the nicu because she was only 4 Ib. I had to stay at the hospital for a week hss they continued to try and stabilize my blood pressure and my baby was there for a week more. It was honestly traumatic. All of this and the hormones have caused me to suffer from postpartum so I just wanted to see if you guys think maybe I'm overreacting about what my mother in law said. This past Saturday my mother in law came over for the first time and I was actually glad my baby was finally getting to meet her grandmother. That quickly changed. My husband wss in the kitchen washing bottles and I was on the couch with our daughter. My mother in law joined me and I handed her the baby. She started talking to the baby and while referring to my husband she said, "your Daddy". Then she turned to me, made eye contact and said, "the incubator." My husband didn't hear it because he was in the kitchen and water was running but it felt like she had said it then to make sure he couldn't hear. The rest of her trip she kept demanding my baby from me and taking her from me. Which honestly left me feeling panicked and anxious. Saying that my baby doesn't like being swaddled because it's operator error. Offering advice we never asked for and telling ud that what we are doing is wrong. Then commenting how my baby looks so much like mother in law and my husband. My husband knew something was bothering me and kept asking me what was wrong but I didn't want to say anything while she was there. When she left I did tell my husband everything for the first time since we've been together, even telling him everything she had said and done in the past. He feels terrible, says I'm not overreacting. My husband even wanted to say something to his mother but I told him not to. I still can't help but feel like I'm overreacting.

I'm sorry for the long post I just really needed to vent.
