How to navigate this situation with my partner
So my (M18) girlfriend (F18) and I recently after about a year and a half together. It all started with small arguments about trust, but it’s turned into something that’s made me question if I was ever really seen for who I am.
A little background — I got a retail job at a store under the Abercrombie & Fitch Co brand a while back, and she wasn’t happy about it. She said she didn’t trust me working there because “too many girls go to that store.” I’ve never cheated, never flirted with anyone, never given her a reason to feel that way. Ironically, she ended up getting a job at the same brand later on, but she was still uncomfortable with me being there.
Trying to be understanding, I told her I’d quit and look for something else. I later got an interview at PUMA in Dolphin Mall, and she got upset again — this time because “too many teenagers hang out there and ask for numbers.” At that point, it felt like no matter where I worked, she’d find a reason not to trust me.
I tried to fix things, but she didn’t want to. Then, late one night, she texted me asking why I deleted my Reddit history. I told her I deleted the whole account because I didn’t need it anymore — which is the truth. The only reason I ever used Reddit was to ask for advice, to vent, and to figure out if I was actually being treated unfairly or if I was the problem.
She didn’t believe me. She insisted that I deleted it to hide “NSFW stuff” and basically said that after all this time, she still doesn’t know if I was loyal — that she’d “have no way of knowing and doesn’t want to risk it.”
After 1.5 years of being completely loyal, honest, and patient, it just hurts. I feel like no matter what I said or did, it was never enough. I’m left wondering how you’re supposed to move forward from someone who makes you feel guilty for things you never did — and how to start finding yourself again when you’ve spent so long trying to prove your worth to someone who never really trusted you.

TL;DR: Dated my girlfriend for 1.5 years, stayed loyal the entire time. She never trusted me working retail jobs (Abercrombie, then PUMA), accused me of deleting Reddit for NSFW reasons when I only used it for advice, and said she “could never really know” if I was faithful. Now I’m just trying to figure out how to move forward and find myself again after all that.
