Independent contractor for a US based Startup | need guidance

I recently accepted an offer from a US-based startup to work remotely as an Independent Contractor.

I wanted to get some clarity from people who’ve been in similar situations.

Will this kind of role create any issues when switching later to a bigger company (like MAANG or top Indian tech firms)?

For those who’ve done this before how did you present it on your resume or during background checks?

I’m early in my career.
