Golf? Do I need to learn golf

So I recently was promoted to a global role, marketing. I get to do a lot of international travel and training for my new teams. Its also come with a lot of new visibility within my company and customers and networking. We do a lot of golf events. Im currently at one, but manning the sponsor booth.

So......have any of you picked up golf to help with your networking? Its a male dominated fields im in so im guessing the answer is....yes. 😫
