I was speaking to my mom last night and she was talking about hearing about the 67 craze, but she told me about the 66 craze of her youth. Has anyone else heard of this?

So I was talking with my mom who’s 75 now and she brought up that she heard on TV about the 67 craze amongst kids and wondered if my youngest was doing it.

She added it. It’s really funny because back in the day when she was a child she lived in New York. My grandmother was a typical New Yorker middle-aged an old lady who was obsessed with bingo. But she said she would bring my mom to bingo sometimes and whenever they called out 66 all the ladies would start hooting and making cat call sounds. So as a child, my mom asked why is everyone doing this and her mom told her “because 66 looks like a man’s testicles. “. This soon became a really funny joke with all the kids in school.

Apparently, when my grandmother retired in Miami and my mother went to visit her and went to play bingo with her once the old people were still doing this at least back in the 80s.

Has anyone else heard of this?
