AITAH for thinking different than my boyfriend(M31) in his spiritual awakening/journey?

Hi everyone, for reference I am F(24). my boyfriend has been recently having more and more conversations about his spiritual journey as of early this year. I’ve known him for about 2 years now. But, this all really took off to full spiritual mode really this year. According to him he is not religious, that he is just following christ, scripture and not leaning nor to the christian or catholic church. He does go to a catholic church every sunday though so I’m confused on that as well if he claims he isn’t leaning on a specific or even calling himself religious. Just a follower of christ.

I apologize if the way I word things sound wrong. I am not really too familiar with scripture, and just most religions meanings. I grew up chathloic but also did go to christian church’s for sometime. that’s just how I grew up we believe in god, pray and lean in our faith but we don’t attend church every sunday, we never really did. earlier this year still then he would still try to push me to go to church. and I just told him that’s something I was comfortable doing. he kinda stopped asking eventually but now just says that I should follow christ and just read the bible etc. although I respect his journey I feel as if I feel guilty that he’s pushing it on me and I denny. he makes me feel like I look bad or i’m not doing something good by not following in what he thinks is the way to go. so that already makes me feel a way.

in our daily conversations now almost everything turns into talking about the bible and christ. which I do respect but it seems as the days pass he refers to everything as in christ talked to him, told him to do so, etc. recently he went on a work trip and unfortunately left his airpods and sunglasses behind. he texted me he lost them and followed it up with “this never happens to me I wonder what god is trying to tell me.” which I understand this is his perspective but I feel as if he’s doing too much and I apologize if that offends anyone. but I did respond with saying “I don’t necessarily think god is telling you anything, things just get lost sometimes and it’s replaceable I wouldn’t think too deep into it.” that was last week.

Now to today we were having a conversation about halloween. This past weekend he went on a fishing trip and I went to those halloween scare maze at a theme park with my family. I also do have plans this friday for halloween with some friends as we’re getting dressed to go hangout grab a drink. we are semi long distance as he lives about a 2 hour drive from me. so we wouldn’t be hanging out this weekend. he mentioned he wasn’t doing anything for halloween because he thinks it is negative dark energy and in the bible it says to stay away from that. I tried telling him that I just think he sees it that way but not necessarily try to focus on dark. but he stayed on that train so I said ok that’s fine. so I asked what about when you have kids you won’t let them celebrate halloween and he said no. which I respect but at the same time we both grew up dressing up and such. I don’t really know why it’s such a big problem someone please help me or educate to understand. and then since it just became a topic about a lot of stuff he has changed his mind of doing because it is a “sin”. TMI but we haven’t done anything as of late to be intimate not because of anything just cause we haven’t seen each other so I thought i’d ask if we still would because he has a very high sex drive. he said we would not. that moving forward we would wait until marriage. mind you we have about a 7 year age gap. so our mindsets already kind of clash as he has been a little emotional abusive and controlling. but tried to cover it as protection. I am conflicted because he said this is a huge deal breaker as if I wouldn’t agree with most things. that he refuses to have a divided household. ex, dad doesn’t celebrate halloween but mom does. I respect it but I’m like he did have a lot of strong opinions please see my page for other things he has said but has calmed down as of late. but now it’s this. i would understand if he was like this when I met him but this all has just gotten more and more intense. I just need some advice please. as much as I respect what he is saying. if just seems like it has to be his way only if not the relationship. but am I the asshole for thinking otherwise?
