Did Halloween baking championship used to have proper themes each dessert?

I don't know if I'm miss remembering, but I swear the show used to have the format where it was that for the first challenge of each episode the constants had to use a specific theme and flavour they got from Johnathan and the second challenge was a proper theme too unless it was the once a season team challenge, like a example would be it's Frankenstein's monster week so a contestant randomly grabs a card that has fish for what to turn their dessert monster into and another card saying licorice as the flavour. Why did the show stop doing that type of format, and does the Christmas one still do it?
