Everyone’s using AI, but only half of us actually trust it. Why?

Our recent poll showed what we all suspected,  trust in AI is complicated.

G2 just released a new blog on why people struggle to trust AI and the findings are eye-opening:

  • 75% of professionals now use tools like ChatGPT and Copilot to complete daily tasks.
  •  Nearly 75% of businesses use multiple AI features in their workflows.
  • 79% of companies prioritize AI capabilities when selecting software.

In short: AI adoption is booming.
But trust? That’s still complicated.

A KPMG study found that globally:

  • 46% of people are willing to trust AI systems,
  • 35% are unwilling, and
  • 19% sit somewhere in between.

So even though most of us use AI every day, barely half of us actually trust it.

It’s a reminder that trust in AI isn’t about hype; it’s about accountability and explainability.

Why do you think that is?  Is it the lack of transparency, potential bias, or fear of losing control over decision-making?
