Going to Trader Joe’s later and picking up a cinnamon broom — can I hang it ON my door, or does it have to go above or next to it?

Hi! As above — I am looking all over the internet and mostly seeing above or next to. Can I hang it literally on my door or is that counterintuitive? Sorry I’m new to all this!
