# A Cautionary Tale

In the past, a benevolent spice guild tried building bridges in the territory of Hagga Basin, so that transit between islands would be safer for those who couldn't afford air transport.

The initiative was abandoned when it became clear that Arrakis sandworms would not allow that to happen.

Nowadays, only the decaying structures remain, being eroded by time and the merciless sandstorms. A warning tale that Arrakis won't accept human-imposed changes, and we must either adapt to it or be claimed by the desert.

# In Game Explanation

I found a patch between Eastern Vermillius Gap and Hagga Rift where you could go far into the sand without reaching worm territory. I then tried to build a bridge over the gap so that safe land transport would be possible, specially for sandbikes and buggies.

Unfortunately, even the smaller gap proved too long for a hanging structure, and I started getting "not enough support". Other from the guild saw that and tried to help with many different solutions, but in the end, it was simply impossible to reach the other side.

We decided to abandon the bridge as some sort or ruins that others could see. I wonder if any new players arriving in Vermillius would see that and believe is was an in-game asset, instead of a player built one.
