Why I chose celibacy and freedom without religion
I’m a non-religious person who has chosen to remain single and celibate. Not because I fear desire, but because I refuse to let it define my freedom.
Sex, in my experience, has become an obstacle — a distraction that drains focus, clarity, and peace. Society calls it liberation, but I’ve found it often binds people more deeply than belief itself.
Celibacy, for me, is not repression. It is strength — the decision to direct my energy toward growth, understanding, and dignity. My body and time belong to me, not to impulse or ideology.
But this is my choice. I don’t ask anyone to live as I do. What gives me peace might cause others pain, and what comforts others might destroy me. That’s the essence of freedom — it’s personal, not collective.
I don’t need sex to feel alive. I need clarity, respect, and purpose. Freedom is not indulgence — it is dignity without compromise.
