Therapist cancelling through office after licensing exam
Hi, I'll try to keep it short. So my T went on a month long break to take her exam. Our last session was nice, warm and fulfilling which was the reason I could handle the month long break. I was excited for her so we talked about her exam for some time at the end, and she told me she'd text me her result when she gets it. I was not expecting her to, and I even thought I'd send her a short text wishing good luck and relieving her from the obligation, because it could go either way and I didn't want her to feel obligated. Anyway, the exam was yesterday and I was excited to meet her next week. A lot happened this one month and I was excitedly waiting to share everything with her.
Now I didn't get any text yesterday, I was a bit upset but reminded myself that it's okay. Maybe the exam didn't go as expected and it's not my concern. Today morning I suddenly get a call from her office and they left a voicemail. Gist is my T needs to cancel next week's appointment too and can see me the following week if I want to, but they can reschedule with someone else too if I want.
I'm just confused what's happening. T used to text me directly about rescheduling so far, and I'd also text her about my availability on her number. Idk how to read this situation. Is there any logistics behind her not being able to text me personally? Is it inappropriate if I text her saying I'm okay seeing her when she's available, or will that be unprofessional since she was not the one reaching out?
Maybe I'm overthinking, but I literally ruminated every word I'd say to her when I see her and now I'm feeling very thrown off by the distance, uncertainty and coldness. Which sums up to me being hurt, which I was not at all expecting.
