I've found Him!
Hello all,
I just wanted to proclaim my love for our Lord and share my story.
Earlier in my life, when I was around the ages of 10–13, I attended a non-denominational Bible study and truly enjoyed it. However, as I got older, I became more and more rebellious in nature, and as a result, I sadly lost my faith and fell from grace.
I turned to agnosticism and remained that way for many years.
I felt that my scientific views on the Big Bang theory and evolution couldn’t possibly be compatible with any sort of faith in God. I have since learned that I was wrong in that assumption.
But deep down, I knew He was always there. When I was at my worst, I would still pray for help — so I was playing this strange “I believe but I don’t believe” game with myself.
I was often anxious or depressed, and at times, sadly, suicidal.
A few years ago, though, I attended Mass with my fiancée, who was baptised at birth as a Catholic, and it reopened my eyes just enough to see that His ways are good and beyond my comprehension.
About four months ago, I began researching different churches, their beliefs, and their doctrines. I discovered the Holy Catholic Church’s teachings and began studying them in depth.
Like a fire in my soul, I very suddenly became deeply religious and could literally feel all my worries wash away from me. I now know this was the Holy Spirit flowing through my soul.
I intend to begin my RCIA courses very soon, but in the meantime, I am constantly studying Scripture and listening to priests on YouTube.
I attend Mass every Sunday, and I pray the Rosary every night. I even have my own rosary beads and wear a crucifix — both of which have been blessed by a priest.
This dive into faith has also touched my fiancée. Her faith is stronger than ever; we are repenting together, reading the Bible together, and she even plans to go to confession after a very long time away. Our love for each other, and our love for God, has never burned brighter.
I have never felt so good in my life. Sometimes I wonder if I found God, or if He found me.
God is great, and I thank Him every day for saving me. I love and worship our merciful Lord, and I love and honor Mary, the Blessed Holy Virgin, Mother of God, every day.
Praise be to God. Praise be His name forever.
Please pray for me, that I may become baptised and join the Holy Catholic Church, so that I may participate in the sacraments of our Lord.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this, and have a blessed day.
