2nd Scenario: Kodaka at his peak

Hi, like I said when I talked about route 0, I'm replaying all the routes, and this time it was 2nd scenario's turn, so here is my opinion + analysis about this route.

I honestly forgot how great this route was, not only is an amazing continuation for route 0, but is a fantastic conclusion for this wonderful story. All the revelations and plot twists were very shocking and really well-written, I love it how the characters started to feel bad about their actions and how they didn't want to exterminate the planet, but it was a necessary evil for mankind.

I also really liked the characters, all of them had an important role in the story, like ima and kako's relationship who had a cute conclusion for their arc, shouma and his memories, eito and his amazing and perfect redemption, hiruko and her support towards takumi, shion and his desire of living a real life... all of them were phenomenal in this route and you really see them not as partners, but as friends and family.

The commanders are also very tragic characters after the big revelation that we are the bad guys. All of them only wanted to save their planet and their families but were murdered not only by the SDU, but by V'ehxness, who had to kill them in order to become invincible and killing once and for all the "wicked invaders", she really did a great job doing that, especially with the missile who killed the whole humanity. I also want to talk about Eva, easily the most tragic character of the game, imagine being brainwashed and turning into a killing machine, only for being killed in a desperate attempt to remember something important... Eva deserved much better, and for this reason I'm mad at how the game handled her character in the rest of the routes.

Finally I want to talk about the ending... holy shit that was insane, this is one of the most bittersweet endings I've ever saw in my life. Watching all the characters dying one by one in this suicide mission was so heartbreaking and their last words were even worse, and then takumi destroying the academy and his final words to Nozomi... OH MY GOD THAT WAS DEVASTATING. I'm not the biggest fan of takumi but dear god that moment was perfect. I really liked how the game tricks you making you believe Nozomi is going to die in the end, only for her being the only survivor... that final scene where she cries in front of the futurans was beautiful, probably one of the most beautiful moments in the game.

In conclusion... yeah, this route is as great as everyone says, and although I think there are even better routes, 2nd scenario is truly special, and like I said, is the best story Kodaka has written in all his career. Good job man.
