Is the Yamaha AG06 MK2 any good as a recording interface?

Hardware

I'm in the market for a new audio interface, something that can handle a mic and a guitar amp modeler running in stereo. I've narrowed down my picks to the AG06mk2 and the Arturia Minifuse 4, I'm currently leaning toward the Yamaha but I'm not quite sold on it yet. I've tried to look further into it in a music recording/production context but everything I've found either focuses on its use for streaming or is talking about the mk 1 model. I understand the AG06 is only a 2x2 interface whereas the Minifuse is 4x4, but I'm not sure if that should necessarily be a deal breaker for the AG.

Is the AG06mk2 a good pick for an audio interface? Would I be better off with the Minifuse instead? Are there any particular pitfalls I'd need to look out for if I went with the AG?

  • For reference (in case anyone finds this thread months/years later trying to google the same thing I'm looking for) at the time of posting the Minifuse 4 is at full price at $250US while the AG06 is on discount from $240 down to $204. This is for sure a factor in me considering the AG06 atm.
