My LTC admin is not licensed
My administrator is very odd. He shows no interest in the residents, and when you try to tell him about a serious, provable abuse event that happened, he shifts the blame back on you or minimizes it (“Why are you telling me this now?” “How do you know this? You don’t know this!”). A nursing home administrator is usually someone dedicated to protecting the residents (or at least pretending to). I thought something seemed fishy.
I decided to look up his license- and he has no license. The person in charge of credentials checked it too, and found the same, but she is afraid to speak up. The administrator must have a license in order for the nursing home to be licensed, so I’m not sure whose license numbers they are using in order to license the nursing home.
I made a complaint to the state several weeks ago and he is still there, working as before.
If I, as a nurse, was caught working without a license, I’d be in a world of hurt. I realize that there is a difference between licensing administrative and medical roles, but he makes decisions that hurt the residents. Why is this being allowed to happen? I’m beyond frustrated.
