Is Johnson City, TN a good choice?

Hello,

I’ll be getting out of the military. And looking for somewhere I can start a life. I’m planning on going into the trades when I get out as an electrician (I already have some electrical background while in the military). There’s a trade school not too far out and there seems to be work on Indeed for the area. I also love the mountains, I’m from Georgia and always appreciated the Appalachian mountains they had up north. Plus yall have a Publix, there isn’t much else more to say.

Just was wondering if the folks from Johnson City could help me get a more accurate and honest opinion on the town? -Do you guys like it there? -Are the falls actually cold (I’m currently in HI and only get summers, all year round) -How’s the housing options over there? Can I atleast afford rent, off of a low level electrician apprentice? -What’s the best gym there? I see yall have a lot of options. -And whatever else yall might want to add just to give me an idea.

Just wanted to try and get a scope of things. I’d appreciate it.
