Baby glasses with straps?

My 4 month old needs glasses and everyone is saying to use the straps by my initial thought is that doesn’t sound safe for the car or if I accidentally leave them on when I put him down for sleep. I have a 2 and 5yo at home so I can easily get side tracked. In fact, I accidentally put him down for an early morning nap with his glasses on (regular temple style) bc it was pitch black in the room and when I went to get him an hour later I saw that I had left them on. I was glad he didn’t have the strap on. It’s Nano brand with Velcro on the strap but when I pull it hard the Velcro doesn’t come apart. Is there something I’m missing? Husb says there’s no way he can pull hard enough to strangle himself and there’s nothing in the crib for the strap to get caught on if I do accidentally put him down with strap on glasses. Would he cry if he started to get uncomfortable with the glasses around his neck? Do the glasses themselves prevent the haughtiness that would be needed to actually strangle?
