sleeping in

Hello! I have dealt with what I’m assuming is nightmare disorder my whole life. I have chronic extremely vivid and realistic nightmares that mess with me during sleep and when I wake up feeling emotionally drained and anxious. I was taking medication for this, but it eventually wasn’t working anymore and when I upped the dosage it really messed with my blood pressure in the morning. Besides the nightmares, I also have trouble going to sleep and staying asleep. Right now I’m trying a concoction of chamomile tea with tart cherry concentrate. Sometimes it helps, but not always.

Anyways, my biggest issue right now is waking up on time. I am in my senior year of college and have struggled with morning classes every semester. I have literally one class at 10AM twice a week and I am there around half the time. I am either freaked out from nightmares or literally so exhausted I sleep through my alarms until noon (like today)….

Does anyone have any advice as to waking up on time and staying awake? I have some other health concerns I need to get figured out before I pile on more medical bills to figure out my sleep issues lol, so here I am.
