Seth wasn't faking his injury at SNME and was supposed to cash in on Goldberg

Question

Please understand this is a theory and I'm not nearly as knowledgeable as a lot of you are when it comes to wrestling.

Recently got back into wrestling(atittude Era guy) when raw came to Netflix this year. Since then I've been lucky enough to attend 4 events (smackdown, SNME, EVOLUTION, and the following Raw when OTC came back) and have mostly enjoyed watching.

At SNME, Seth had his "injury" against LA Knight and was out for a while then later revealed it was all a ruse. I'd like to understand why I never see an alternate theory being mentioned.

Are we sure Seth was faking that night? I was there a few rows from the ring close to the corner where it happened and it seemed very real to me especially how he acted when the cameras weren't rolling. I went to school for acting and theatre and while I'm not an expert I gotta say that if he was faking he should win an award. Seth didn't just look hurt, he looked really pissed off to me like he knew this was gonna fuck things up. Lol I remember him yelling "FUCK" over and over again at himself. And LA knight looked confused as hell so he definitely didn't know regardless lol. Of course that's all just my opinion.

I believe that Goldberg was supposed to beat Gunther and win the title. If you're having a retirement match why wouldn't you want to go out in a blaze of glory? Goldberg's a hothead and I doubt he'd agree to a match he was lose. What better way for him to end then by winning the title? I saw in a couple interviews, one with Michael Cole, where he was asked what happens if he wins the title, and his reply was always like " hmmn that would be interesting wouldn't it?". When Goldberg was giving his speech after the match I remember him saying sorry for the lackluster finish or something like that and looking dissapointed.

Seth was going to cash in and beat Goldberg to take the title. But Seth DID hurt his leg that night at least enough to know he wouldn't be able to continue and he was mad at himself for messing up Goldberg's big night. But it ended up not being that bad and was able to heal within a week or two. I mean I've gotten a sprained ankle before as a performer and not been able to put weight on it at all for a couple days, but after a week or two it gets better. Sure at this point Seth could have come back but why not keep him out longer then have an awesome fuck you punk moment at summerslam?

So like I said earlier, I'm not an expert or anything, it just makes more sense to me. If I'm wrong (BECAUSE I COULD BE WRONG) explain why you know that. I had a 20 year absence from wrestling and not nearly as smart or knowledge as some of you are with this stuff. So does anyone agree? Thanks I appreciate any comments!
