Help choosing new phone. iOS to Android?
TLDR Version: I’ve got an iPhone 13 Pro Max right now, and I’m not happy with iOS 26 and how slow and glitchy everything has gotten. Is it worth switching to android, if so which phone would you recommend? Or should I just stay the course and get an iPhone 17 pro. I have both Verizon and T-Mobile and would like to keep both. I primarily care about the camera, battery life, and the screen quality. I think the max price I’m willing to spend is like $1,400 usd, I’m planning on getting more than 128gb storage cause I keep maxing that out on my current phone.
Long version, I’m sorry for how long it got:
I’ve been looking at getting a new phone as mine has been acting up and the battery life hasn’t been great, even after getting a replacement. Budget isn’t really an issue for me.
I am located in the US and have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and use both Verizon and T-Mobile with two different SIM cards, both of which I would like to continue using. I’m pretty deep in the Apple ecosystem, but I don’t really use the continuity features. I’ll have to get a new watch soon, and I can live with my AirPods not having every feature. I used to have androids prior to switching to iPhone, I only switched because android didn’t feel as stable as it does now and Im pretty sure my last android was defective. My last android phone was a galaxy s6 for context.
I’ve been highly considering switching to android for a while, which has only increased with the release of iOS 26. I’m not really a big fan of Liquid Glass, the new placement for a lot of ui elements, and the general buggy nature of it. Don’t get me started on the battery life drain, I got a battery replacement a year ago and I feel like I now have the same battery life as I did pre-replacement.
I have been all over the place when looking at phones, and have been looking at the OP13, OP15, s25u, s25, razr ultra, and 17 pro and pro max. I’m a little hesitant on Samsung just because I have had issues in the past with their devices. The new OP13 sale has me really interested. I’m all open to different phone recs too. I’ve also been considering getting a smaller phone because the 13 pro max is just a little too big for comfort and so heavy, but smaller but still good phones are very limited in options. I feel like maybe if the weight was less it’d be more manageable.
My main priorities with a phone are mostly the camera, as I like to take a lot of photos and videos, the screen, and battery life. The phone needs to be compatible with both Verizon and T-Mobile and support dual sim. I don’t care about AI features, actually the less the better.
Also a watch recommendation to go with any android phones would be great too!
Any advice is appreciated! Thank you in advance!
