Corp owning multiple businesses

Could someone help me better understand how a corporations financials would look for multiple businesses?

I have an upcoming interview as a bookkeeper with a corporation that owns multiple businesses under it. I believe they want me to set up a new company as well under it.

I want to try and prepare myself a little for this if possible
