My mom’s been different since my dad moved abroad, and I don’t know how to feel about it

So my dad moved to another country about a year ago for a new project his company started. We couldn’t go with him because of my school and my mom’s job.

Since then, my mom has started going out a lot more parties, late nights on weekends, social events, that kind of stuff. I’m not against it or judging her; she’s an adult and can do whatever she wants.

But there’s this one male friend of hers who’s been around a lot lately. He’s dropped her off a few times at night, I’ve seen him at our house when I came back from school, and recently they even went to a gala together.

Maybe it really is just friendship I haven’t seen anything inappropriate or have any proof otherwise. But still, it feels strange to see how much things have changed since my dad left. She wasn’t this outgoing or close to this guy before.

I don’t know if I’m overthinking or if this is something I should be concerned about. I just needed to share it somewhere.
