The Wrath of Kon
Hornets Homer. Hand up. But Kon has really, really beyond impressed me. I wanted VJ, Tre, or Ace and was kinda disappointed they took Kon. Even if those guys have more upside, for a Hornets team that always struggles to draft, this looks like their best draft class, maybe ever? Anyway, with Miller being out, Kon has had to take more on ball duties.
You can see, he's still figuring out the pace of play. He makes some bad turnovers. But literally, you can see the improvement, almost by game. I don't think he'll ever be a primary, but a secondary creator for sure. I think if he can add more mid-range (although he has some in his bag already) and movement shooting, his upside could be higher than I thought. Everyone said he's Bane, which I would take. But he has the size and frame to finish already. He's a good passer. He just does everything well.
What are your thoughts on his real upside? He just turned 20, and if he keeps this up, he could be 15/4/4 on efficient numbers as rookie. I'm not saying he is going to be Devin Booker. But he plays like Devin Booker the more I watch him. Book is a better athlete with a better handle and better off movement--but maybe something between Bane and Booker. Thoughts?
