Referral Responses: How long is too long?
Hey everyone. I was hoping to get some feedback around referral etiquette, might be the best way to describe it. I'm an LCMHC within New England area in private practice. I do my best to keep up as referrals come in, even if I'm not currently taking new clients. Recently, I came across a referral folder I must have overlooked with about 5 requests ranging from 3 months to 10 months ago. I feel terrible but led me to a wondering of 'how long is too long?' If you were to get a response back from a request you made 10 months ago would it leave you thankful, angry, or is it something you would just look past and move on? I've received mixed responses from my peer group so thought reaching out to a broader and varied group may be both helpful and interesting. I hope everyone is finding themselves well in difficult times.
