Is it possible to make money by coding as a college student?

Hey guys, i'm an endustrial engineering student. So the deal is, i worked at a lot of different jobs such as salesman, waiter etc. But these jobs mean nothing for the job i wanna have in the future. I want to improve myself at coding and invest in myself for future. But i gotta make money too. So is it possible for a beginner to make money by coding? I have 2-3 hours free time on my average day and can work on it about a year. But after 1 year i wanna make money from it. Maybe not much but at least 300-400 dollars per month.
