A plea for fact checking and preview listening

Do they have anyone to beta listen to their episodes besides their editor? I have been a longtime listener and enjoyer of the pod since late 2020 and more recently in 2023 subscribed to the patreon. I love them and am hesitant to post this bc they receive so much gross and unnecessary vitriol and I don't want to contribute to that but recently with the new pod I've been consistently feeling like there just hasn't been enough ears on the thing before releasing it. Most recently in yesterday's episode Ashley was talking about the heist and Clare asks:

"I am very interested in the resale market of this stuff because it is that double-edged sword of you can't really wear your stolen jewels. Like who has the money? Is it all going to like Putin? You know what I mean? Is it all Kim Jong? Like you can't wear it to like the White House press conference."

Ashley responds:
"I've seen enough white collar, the TV show and leverage the TV show to know that a lot of times it's like a back alley deal for a billionaire to have this like badge of honor that he chose to like very few other billionaires like do you know what I mean?"

Now, I'm not dense. I understand the humor in this! And I think it's really funny. But I just can't get past the fact that she didn't even follow up with what actually happens to these things after they are stolen 😭 every news outlet that reported on this story emphasized the urgency of finding the stuff before the robbers had the chance to break all of it up, to make it unrecognizable, and discreetly sell it. Like I'm sorry but that's just common knowledge!!!!! Also the way that Ashley and Clare say this thing about putting the crowns behind vaults... it genuinely feels like they actually believe that's what happens😭😭😭

I think I'm just annoyed because even though I know this is not a news or journalism podcast, they do talk about wanting to engage in intellectual and meaningful conversations, and giving them the benefit of the doubt, assuming it was a bit... they still didn’t anchor the bit with the basic factual backdrop of how stolen jewels are typically dismantled and sold. Without that, the humor reads slightly unmoored, and the casual misinformation is worrying. I get that they are not journalists but I still want to be able to trust that they're discussing the facts😭😭😭😭😭😭
