[SPOILERS S3] I just made a crazy connection.
Was it ever the writer’s intention to make plot references to the children’s literature masterpiece, Charlotte’s Web?
Think about it, the very beginning of the show displays the web of characters and how they are all connected. In the end, the entire web centered around Jonas (Wilbur). The synopsis of Charlotte’s Web according to google is “It tells the story of a pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a barn spider named Charlotte, who saves his life by weaving messages in her web that praise him” I find it so fascinating that there are subtle similarities between both stories. The themes of inevitable death and feeling like your existence is meaningless but knowing you are still special and what matters most is the love and friendships you made along the way. You could even view H.G Tannhaus as Wilbur and the death of his family and the time loop he created was just one giant message from Charlotte to her dear grandfather. So devastating yet so beautiful 🥺
What are your thoughts? 💭
