AIO For being mad over exclusion?
Hi all! A recent situation occurred over a breakup involving my exclusion from an open invitation group event, and I can't tell if i'm overreacting unjustly or if i'm right for being annoyed.
A few weeks ago, I fell out with my partner over some dumb decisions I made in our relationship. Since then we've gone no contact, but considering we're within the same friend circle, have decided to stay somewhat 'civil.'
Within our group, we are all dnd nerds. My friend (I will refer to her as M) offered all of us the opportunity to play in a new game which I was quick to jump on considering my love for tabletop rpgs.
Come today, I recieve a text from M suddenly claiming I may not be able to join. Upon questioning, her logic is as follows. Due to our breakup, there would be contention at the table, and it wouldn't be fair due to the uncomfortable atmosphere.
For context, this issue was never present beforehand nor was it mentioned. I get pretty heated, and argue that she shouldn't have made it open invitation if she didn't want there to be tension in the first place. She insists that because I caused the breakup, my ex takes priority, and therefore she has every right to kick me out.
After she texts my ex about the situation, and after a quick DM to her myself saying that ive been looking forward to this and am willing to put differences aside, it's decided that im not invited to the game. I am now greatly frustrated as M has fabriacted an issue that wasnt there to begin with. Am I overreacting for being mad at both my ex and M for this situation?
TLDR: Mad becuase i'm being excluded from what was an 'open invitation' friend group event due to a manufactured issue over a breakup I caused.
