Considering new basketball shoes: which ones should I get?

Recommend Shoes

For the past few years, I've mostly worn LeBrons (15, 20, 21) and Jordans (34). I played briefly in Freak 1s and 2s, but I didn't love them. What I am looking for in a shoe is traction, traction, traction. After that, cushioning is the next most important thing. I don't want to slip and I don't want my feet to hurt (for reference, I'm about 6'4 and 210-215 lbs depending on the day).

I don't want to be stuck with the same brand forever out of blind loyalty or ignorance of other options. Here are the options I'm considering. Which one do you think would work best for me? Is there an option that I am not thinking of?

Deadstock Pair of LeBron 21
I like the shoe and it works for me.

Jordan 39 or 40
I really liked the Jordan 34, but I haven't revisited the brand since then.

DON Issue 7
Really well-reviewed, traction is a strong feature, and affordable!

AE 2
Cool looking? They got me with the branding, to be honest. My last pair of Adidas shoes were the AdiRose Zeros from like 2011.

Curry 12
I heard the traction is amazing, but I have no experience with Under Armour.

Dame X
The price is hard to beat and they look good. Reviews look good too.

A'One
There's a colourway I like and they seem well-reviewed. Good price.

Let me know what you think!
