I feel lost.
Hello Everyone, I am a current sophomore. So far I have not been doing to bad academic and EC wise I currently have a 3.8 gpa with the likelihood of getting all A’s this semester bring that grade up even further, I’m in a research Lab and I am a TA currently with some volunteer hours.
The thing that’s making me feel this way is my current circumstances throughout my college career and its impact on my mental. I’ve been homeless my entire undergraduate career, I work almost full time out of school, it recently hit rock bottom when I had to emergency live on campus and now my immediate family with a single mom is currently in a shelter. I feel guilty for a multitude of reasons. The fact that I currently have a roof over my head and easily accessible food, and for working towards a career that wouldn’t prove profitable enough to help my family until pretty much 2040.
I’ve started to see myself being impacted academically, I don’t even want to go to classes anymore let alone do homework. I’m also starting to despise the work that I am doing for free through my EC’s as it’s been taking time away from working. I have been unable to make meaningful connections with other students so far likely due to my lack of time. I literally have not one day to decompress.
I also graduated early, a couple of months after I turned 16, I am now only 17 so I can’t even build credit right now and seeing that Bill that affects graduate loans has also affected me heavily because idek what I’m working for anymore. I’m so sorry this is extremely long, I just needed to get that off my chest, thank you.
