to birth control or not to birth comtrol?
hey! i would really appreciate if any of you could share about your experience whilst on or with bc.
for the context: i dont have the most typical textbook pcos. i first got it diagnosed via blood work as i didnt really have cysts. my cycle is mostly regular now and aside from a few stressful moments in my life, i dont have big issues with my cycle itself.
my weight is healthy (but i was fat growing up and dieted quite a bit and that's a whole other can of worms) though i do monitor my food more as im scared that weight just piles up on me much differently than on other people ive observed (except when im snapping during pms and the sugar demanding voices takeover). i do struggle with intense cravings and the 2-3 weeks long luteal phases dont help.
i struggle with severe depressive episodes, my pms usually lasts 2-3 weeks, and i quite literally feel like someone turned the lights off one day for no tangible reason.
i also always struggled with hairiness and noticed more of black hairs growing in unwanted places this year.
i only ever used bc once in my life for like 2-3 months and it was the first time in my life i was functioning without monthly depressive episodes. i couldnt keep using back then but im considering to start using it again.
ive been prescribed drospirenone 3 mg and ethinylestradiol 0.03 mg. im just a bit hesitant about the longterm vision as my gyno just said i could take it basically until i hit meno. um. that answer alone seemed off? im scared of what will happen when i quit it?
on a side note, ive been using inositol for years. tried maca, berberine, a lot of vitamins and supplements generally. spearmint tea. etc etc.
