Annual running cost of EVs
Hello everyone,
I am contemplating replacing my existing petrol two-wheeler with an EV.
My major gripe with petrol two wheelers is unreliability of services. Getting proper service is a gamble no matter which brand I look at. This is something I hope to resolve by going for an EV.
Secondly, even though "refueling" cost will be lower, is it significantly lower than petrol to recover cost in let's say 4-5 years?
For example, a TVS Jupiter 125 is about 1L while a River Indie is ~1.5L. With my running of about 300KM a month. This way I will need about 5-7 years to recover extra amount paid. By that time, battery replacement will be due and of course the technology would've moved on quite a lot.
From existing owners, I want to know how has been your experience so far? Which EV you're using and for how long? What is the service cost like? Given a choice would you swap it for something else?
