Having too much experience is not a virtue these days :-( thoughts?

I was working for the last 20 years in different capacities across multiple companies in Delhi NCR region. Took a break for personal reasons after resigning - and now finding it really difficult to be considered for any job. Some say , I am way too qualified and the last salary that I had was way too high and others say( indirectly )my age (40+) is against me. Everything is preconceived. Hard to be optimistic 😔 Any advise ? 🙏🙏
