US Capitol Christmas Tree to visit Lexington

The US Capitol Christmas Tree, a 53 ft. red fir from Nevada, is on its was to Washington. It will stop in Lexington at Gatton Park on November 25 so you can see it. This tree is donated by the US Forest Service, and over 10,000 Nevadans have made decorations for it. The Society of American Foresters, my professional organization, is one of the sponsors.

The US Capitol Christmas Tree is chosen from a National Forest every year. It is also called The People's Tree because it is not at the White House and is open for everyone to see.
