AITAH for not answering my mom’s calls after she guilt-tripped me for moving out?
I (24F) finally moved out last month after years of living with my mom. It wasn’t dramatic, I just needed space, and I could finally afford it. She helped me pack, said she was proud, and even cried a little. But the next week she started calling every night, asking if I was “lonely yet” or if I “missed home-cooked meals.” When I didn’t answer one night, she texted, “I guess you don’t need your mother anymore.” It’s been two weeks. I’ve seen her once, but she was cold the whole time. I love her, but I feel like she’s punishing me for growing up. Am I the asshole for needing distance, or should I just keep picking up the phone so she feels okay?
