Penalty for possession of 56 grams cannabis first time offence

So my 19 year old son has been caught with 2 ounces (56 grams) of cannabis in NSW. He hasn't got a criminal record at all. He failed a roadside drug driving test at the time also. He had to provide a saliva sample for testing, which the policeman said will take approximately 6 weeks to process, which will likely coincide with the date he is due in local court.

He was issued a court attendance notice which says trafficable amount. He says he told the police it was for personal use - I know he is a dickhead for having such a large amount. Research has told me less than 15 grams can be considered personal use.

Can you guys give me any idea of whether he is likely to end up locked up. Researching this matter has led me to believe he is looking at 2-5 years imprisonment plus fine of $11000.

I haven't been able to sleep properly since learning of the shit he has gotten himself into and have spent several days feeling devastated. Thanks in advance for your help.
