Got Accused of Using AI Because My Grammar Improved

Last semester my professor told me to work on grammar and clarity, so I actually practiced, used writing guides, rewrote drafts, even asked the writing center for feedback. Now Turnitin says my new essay is “AI-like” because it’s too clean.

I can’t win. When my writing’s messy, I lose marks. When it’s polished, I get flagged. Since when did self-improvement become suspicious?
