The Problem between me (F26) and my fiancé (M25) and I can't stand it anymore
I'm feeling nauseous from anxiety just thinking about it, but I thought maybe I could find an answer here. For months, I've been on the verge of going crazy. My boyfriend of six years and I got engaged last September, and this past June, I graduated from university and began a busy job search. However, as some may know, the economy in Türkiye is very bad, and despite graduating from a very good university, I can't find a job. This situation has had a significant impact on me. My fiancé has been working at a Big 4 company for a year. For a year, his relationships with coworkers didn't bother me at all. He didn't go out much, only once a month. However, around the time I graduated, he started going out more often and spending more time with his coworkers. Around the end of July, during a group chat with his coworkers on Teams, he mentioned that my mother-in-law, his mother, had broken her arm while looking for my engagement dress. Suddenly, his female coworker said to my fiancé, “Do you think this is a message from the universe that you shouldn’t get married?” At that moment, I had no confidence, no enthusiasm, no happiness. We had a lot of fights after this incident. My fiancé told me that this girl's character was like that and that everyone in the office accepted her as such. To reassure me, the night we fought, he called the woman who said it and asked her what she meant. She said she was just saying it, that she wasn’t talking nonsense, and that she hadn’t meant anything. But my dear fiancé is so blind that, after I pointed it out to him, he realized she was a bad person and cut off contact. Ten days ago, my fiancé decided to open an Instagram account, but I opposed it. I knew in my gut that the woman who used these ridiculous words would text him. I explained my discomfort to my fiancé in a very kind manner. However, a huge fight broke, and during the fight, glass cut my hand. I needed four stitches. He later regretted it, and so did I. But finally, there was this: he threw his phone during the fight, and it broke, and his senior at the office couldn't reach him. The next day at work, my fiancé told his senior about our fight, saying my hand was cut and his phone was broken. I think, unless his senior is stupid, he'll have more or less figured out what happened. The problem is, thanks to my fiancé, everyone in the office knows me. There’s a lot of gossip in the office where he works. As a result of this, I warned my fiancé not to tell anyone because everyone is truly mean, but it was too late. This morning, my fiancé and I had an appointment at the hospital, so he came with me because it was so close to work. Later, I sat at the cafe right next to his office. He went to the office. 20 minutes later, I saw his senior, and he and the office's most gossipy girl seemed very friendly. That's when I realized that the office's gossip topic for October is my relationship with my fiancé. Right now, I'm sick with anger, disappointment, and exhaustion. I feel like I have no strength left to live.
TL;DR: My fiancé’s female coworker made a very inappropriate comment about our engagement, and ever since then, we’ve had constant fights. During one fight, his phone broke, and I injured my hand badly. He then told his coworkers about it, and now everyone at his office is gossiping about our relationship. I feel humiliated, angry, and emotionally exhausted, and I don’t know how to move forward.
