It came from Cleveland.

A 1997 Korean Dot Model, from the very first year they started to make the Dot as we know it today.

The Guitar Center there had it up on the web for $280. I had a Dot in 2006, as a young 18 year old kid. Guess what? I had to sell my 2006 Dot in 2007 to pay an electric bill. Pretty depressing eh?

So when I saw it in the Winter of 2025 for $280, I had to hit BUY. After a short trip it was at my front door.

It felt great right away and I was happy. Then shortly after, an old friend said he had his old Sheraton II he wanted to fix up. He asked what I could do. I invited him up for the weekend, and repaired his Sheraton and figured: why not go nuts on my Dot too at the same time?

Have you ever worked on a semi-hollow? It sucks, but worth the effort if you can keep your patience.

In the end after the weekend and about another week, I was astounded with the outcome. It was the first moment I felt like I really knew what I was doing. This guitar is special and it vibes hard. Sounds amazing, bigger than life smack down type sound.

I……
\-gutted everything, totally husked the Dot
\-Replaced the pups with a spare set of Gibson 490r/t
\-New nut!
\-New GORGEOUS matte black Kluson deluxe tuners
\-New pickup rings to match the cream binding
\-New knobs that didnt look ugly
\-A little kiss for good luck

This guitar rules. Epiphone semi-hollows, broadly speaking, also rule.
