There's different patterns for Each "Operator" for each class, but I wish there was a setting in the main menu where it would change any unlocked Camos to be set to the respected map automatically. It's pointless having a forest camo when youre playing Siege of Cairo. Having to manually change them just feels like a mild inconvenience.

This was a big gripe for me when I played BFV as well and that game had a boat load of customisation for the soldiers. Most players that played it enough will have unlocked or could have unlocked different camos. But because it never changed automatically, players would just stick to the default colours and then you would end up seeing British soldiers in their default brown uniforms on the mountains of Norway.
