Non-recruiter here. Can someone walk me through the real modern recruitment workflow?
Hey everyone,
I’m a first-time founder working on a tech startup in the hiring space. I’ll be honest, I don’t come from a recruitment background and that’s exactly why I’m here. I don’t want to assume how things should be done, I want to understand how things actually work right now.
If you’re a recruiter, talent manager, or agency owner, could you walk me through what your current workflow looks like, step by step?
Something like:
- Step 1: Post job on X, Y, Z platforms
- Step 2: Review inbound resumes
- Step 3: Send assessments
- Step 4: Schedule interviews
- Step 5: Reference/background checks
- Step 6: Offer + onboarding
I’m trying to see where the biggest bottlenecks really are and more importantly, which “industry standards” might actually be holding people back.
This isn’t a pitch, just honest research from someone hoping to challenge old assumptions and maybe spark a new way of thinking.
Would love to hear your process and pain points. If you don’t mind, mention what industry you’re in (FinTech, Manufacturing, Deep Tech, etc.). It’ll help me understand how workflows differ across sectors. 🙏 Thanks guys!
