Did I accidentally over-level and how big a deal is it?
First off...obligatory context and I play a ton of soulslikes, so I understand the mechanics (I somehow got to Wuchang after AI Limit and Khazan...people weren't lying about how amazing Wuchang's level design is).
Now that that's out of the way...I just finished Act 4 last night, and I'm wondering if I somehow ended up way over-leveled. I think I'm around level 95 or something, and I only started to worry about it in Act 4. I blew through some bosses that people said were very hard in 3 or 4 tries (Bo Magus, Vermillion Feathers, Dragon Emperor) after struggling on earlier bosses. I really started rolling once I unlocked 12 disciplines with the 3 benedictions.
I'm not some amazing player and often take a long time on bosses, so I was ready to spend hours on those bosses and pretty shocked when I destroyed them quickly. I'm using a longsword build.
Anyways, am I just super over-leveled in y'all's opinion, or did I just get lucky/maybe a little good with Chapter 4? I know in some souls games, levelling matters a ton (DS3, Elden Ring, etc.), but in others it doesn't matter THAT much (Khazan). Because it's a skill tree, I figured the leveling would matter less in Wuchang and be more like Khazan, but maybe I'm wrong. I'd love your thoughts.
Oh, and I don't even know HOW I got over-levelled. I haven't grinded for levels at all or done anything besides use my mercury items (Wuchang is the most generous with that type of item of any soulslike I've ever played), so if I am over-levelled, I don't know how it happened. Has anyone experienced anything similar with your first Wuchang run? I guess I could just stop levelling, but I don't know that it makes much difference at this point.
