[12 YoE, Unemployed, Brand Marketing Director / Creative Strategy Lead, United States]
Hi everyone,
I’d really appreciate a review of my resume.. it’s the first time I’ve needed to update it in several years, and I know best practices have evolved quite a bit since then.
Context:
I was laid off earlier this year after several years leading brand marketing at a B2B tech company. My former boss (also laid off the same day) and I launched a small consulting practice to bring in freelance work while exploring next steps, which I’ve listed in the “Additional Experience” section.
What I’m hoping to get feedback on:
- Overall structure and readability
- Whether the “Additional Experience” section feels appropriately positioned or needs to be reframed
- If it flows well or if it could be simplified more for ATS systems
- Any new resume conventions or red flags I might have missed since I last updated this
Target roles: Brand / Creative Strategy Director, Head of Brand, or Marketing Leadership roles (open to both in-house and agency environments).
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
