Issues watering farm

On the switch, if i hold the direction key and action key to water it should keep moving one tile and water once. It doesn't, every second turn it waters the same tile.. im wasting twice as much energy. The one way to do it is move to a tile... click water.. move to a tile, click to water. How do i fix this? Thanks
