Need tips for doing an anomaly odyssey playthrough.

What is the best way to combine odyssey and anomaly?

I'm thinking a vampire cult that harnesses the void and flies around in a giant Gothic castle looking gravship but I'm not sure the best way to create that.

Do I need to build a grav anchor on a tile and call in the obelisk then just keep coming back to the tile when i need to use the obelisk? Do I need to take out the mech hivemind first so it doesn't get attacked? Any tips for integrating these two dlc?

Side question for fun. Should I go with a vampire cult or an Event Horizon type scenario? ie play like the ship itself travelled into the void and came back possessed and somewhat sentient. Can't decide which sounds more fun.
