Buying British

A few questions, I’m interested in getting into N Gauge British locomotives both diesel and steam. Currently I run and operate both American N scale and HO scale but I want some British locos to add to my layout. I live in the US, are there any recommendations as to where I should look to order from? Do British model rail companies ship overseas? Any particular brands that are known for quality? Any to stay away from?
