SJU psych folks. Dating in Bangalore. Is it a culture thing?

I am new to the city and just saw my professor’s profile on Bumble. I have been swiped right on. Profile is photo verified, so it is definitely them. I am confused. Is this a normal Bangalore thing or am I in a niche academic corner of dating here? One of my friends have also experienced something similar.

I have heard the city has a super fluid scene socially, especially with college folks, so I do not know if this kind of thing is common or just weird.

Not sure if this is a terrible idea or actually fine. Anyone else had something like this happen? Should I be cautious given my degree depends on it?
