Context: Children nearly 2.5 years old and 13 months old. Family live 40 minute drive away. We have help nearly every Saturday. Next week we will also have help on a Monday for four hours.

Option a : Work part time minimum wage £12 ph 10 am till 2 pm, office 3 minutes walk Then back to baby duties right after work, no down time Low stress but working in a company where everyone has poor English Care, partner WFH and looks after them atm. In Jan it’s daycare x3 a week 8-1pm Approximately will have £30 to do something fun with them on a weekend if we budget

Option B Work full time £17-19 ph 9-5:30pm Office x2 week (1.5hr travel each way) rest WFH High stress, usually toxic workplace Career built up 10+ years and 75% enjoy the role itself Daycare x4 8-6pm But I could do the odd things round the house without their kids messing up We would have around 400 left over a month

I am edging towards the full-time option especially since the kids are so full on and I’ve been at home since being made redundant after the first was born.
